Outcomes in RichCast
RichCast allows for multiple endings and resolutions.
What Makes A Good Ending?
-
Ensure your story has a clear resolution (even if it’s a bad one!).
-
Provide a ‘wrap up’. Recap what happened briefly and let the player know if they missed anything (this can be done with a short monologue from a supporting character or even the main character themselves).
-
Leave the player feeling satisfied. Make your endings concise so the player feels they have achieved something.
-
Provide good, bad, and OK endings that are influenced by the player’s choices. A bad ending where the main character dies can be just as exciting as the ending where they triumph.
-
Let the player know there are multiple endings. If they didn't hit a particular objective, let them know they can replay the story and try again.
